These lack the latest slang and technical words, but there are plenty of examples of usage and idiomatic phrases (with all those non-obvious prepositions) - many more than given in the current editions. They have served me well for many years and I've now spent megakrone on the latest editions. JB

Bokkilden (the book source) is an online bookshop - the Norwegian equivalent of Amazon. Some prices are cheaper than Norli. The website makes it easy to refine your search by author, language, price etc. If you intend to buy more than once, join up as a member (saves you entering all your details every time). The standard delivery charge to the UK is NOK 200 for any size order, but the overall cost for ordering two or more books will usually be less than buying from Grant & Cutler in the UK.

Grant & Cutler was established in 1936 and is now the largest foreign-language bookseller in the UK, stocking more than 55,000 books, DVDs, CDs, cassettes, games etc. in over 150 languages.

They specialise in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Russian, but pride themselves on covering all living languages, from Afrikaans to Zulu. They also carry substantial stocks in Arabic and in the Eastern European languages, particularly Polish.
